About This Course

The COVID-19 pandemic is a major public health threat seriously affecting many countries in all continents of the world. Some countries have reached the peak of the epidemic remaining vigilant to prevent a significant resurge, others are in an earlier stage of the epidemic trying to prevent further spread and mitigate the course of the epidemic.

This course has been created for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and equips the healthcare workers providing HIV care with the essential knowledge of management of COVID-19.

There is still a lot of uncertainty about the best prevention- and mitigation strategies being optimally adapted to the local situation. Moreover, there are still open questions regarding diagnostic aspects including the role of serological tests as a useful parameter for protective immunity. Specific, recommendable treatment options are not yet available, many trials are underway.
