About This Course

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused devastating human and economic consequences all over the world. In high-income countries the situation is improving due to rapid increase of people being vaccinated. However, in many parts of the world live-saving vaccines are not yet available at large scale and we face the new challenge of emerging variants, some of them with increased transmissibility and reduced effectiveness of existing vaccines.

This new course is building on the previous COVID courses of the AHF ehealthacademy and provides you with the latest news on several COVID-19 topics in the general population, people living with HIV and pregnant women. We focus on epidemiological data, clinical aspects, diagnosis and treatment as well as specific news on the variants and COVID vaccines.

This course was prepared by Dr. Clemens Richter, CME consultant AHF in cooperation with and reviewed by Dr. Adele Schwartz Benzaken, Senior Global Medical Director and Dr. Fernanda Fonseca, Associate Global Medical Director. The course is awarded with 3 AHF CME credit hours.
