What about the retention course

Optimizing retention to care, decrease PLHIV who discontinue HIV treatment, are lost to follow-up and decrease the HIV-related mortality ratio are major challenges in HIV care. And how to re-engage the many clients who are coming back to care after already having been diagnosed in the past?

To address these challenges and provide guiding to healthcare workers, AHF has developed a retention toolkit, which has been integrated into this course including practical examples of case discussions with clients. Moreover, we present available WHO guiding on retention and re-engagement, summarizing excellent international studies on that topic and show examples of several countries how they are dealing with that challenge.

This 3 weeks course was prepared by Dr. Clemens Richter, CME consultant AHF in cooperation with Dr. Adele Schwartz Benzaken, Senior Global Medical Director and Dr. Fernanda Fonseca, Associate Global Medical Director. This 3 weeks course is highly recommended to be followed by all AHF healthcare workers involved in HIV care and is awarded with 4.5 AHF CME credit hours.
