What about the monkeypox update course

In July 2022 the first monkeypox epidemic had been declared a public health emergency of international concern until April 2023, and recently, on August 14, 2024, mpox has again be declared a public health emergency of international concern based on a rise of cases in African countries with the new so-called clade 1.

This new clade is more dangerous than the previous clade 2 because it can cause more severe disease and deaths. For healthcare workers working in HIV clinics and wellness clinics it is extremely important to be familiar with the clinical presentation that can resemble syphilis manifestations, measles and other infections.

For participants who have not yet followed our first monkeypox course 2022, I advise to follow the 2022 course first before starting this course, few slides from the previous course are also part of this new update course 2024 in which I discuss latest 2024 developments of the new epidemic including laboratory diagnosis and vaccination. The new course was developed in cooperation with Dr. Adele Schwartz Benzaken, Senior Global Medical Director and Dr. Fernanda Fonseca, Associate Global Medical Director and is awarded with 1.5 AHF CME credit hours.
