About This Course

The eHealthAcademy.co offers a platform for e-based clinical case discussions for HCWs of all regions.

More than 1 million sexual transmitted infections (STIs) are acquired every day worldwide. They are often asymptomatic, symptoms may be non-specific, mild or severe. Undiagnosed STIs may lead to serious complications. coinfections.

The big challenge for healthcare providers in resource-limited settings is to establish an etiological diagnosis due to lack of diagnostic facilities which would allow targeted treatment.

Therefore, the big challenge is to make use of available testing facilities in combination with the so- called syndromic approach which is recommended by WHO.

In this short course we present 3 clinical STI cases of patients who attended Brazilian STI clinics under supervision of Dr. Fernanda Rick and Dr. Washington Ferreira. The cases were edited by Dr. Clemens Richter, CME consultant AHF, in cooperation with and reviewed by Dr. Adele Schwartz Benzaken, Senior Global Medical Director AHF. The course is awarded with 2 AHF CME credit hours.
